Artist and art critic. Graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1978. Served as an editor for 'Fine Arts' magazine from 1979 to 1983, and for 'China Fine Arts Newspaper' from 1985 to 1989. Since 1990, he has been active as an independent art critic and is known as the 'Godfather of Chinese Contemporary Art'.
